How Do We Pay for all this Stuff at SCUU? We Pledge!!

In the spring, Each household or family makes a yearly commitment during our pledge drive. Our pledge committee carefully, mindfully, gently and without nets approaches members each year to discuss pledging and our members' pledge. Meanwhile, the Treasurer and finance committee creates a budget with the SCUU Board that is presented to the congregation and voted upon by the congregation during our Congregational Meeting at the start of our fiscal year in June. The budget is in part based on the results of our pledge drive. Members and Friends pledge each as they are able. We encourage everyone to give until it feels good and not until it hurts. It's a wonderful LEAP OF FAITH and commitment.
We must not forget that at any time, as new members join they are asked to pledge. Friends of the congregation pledge too. Friends are people who are not members but choose to help SCUU financially.

There's also the FUNdraising committee. We have fundraising events to help us meet our financial commitment. However the majority of our funding comes from pledging.
Main point: We need your brains, hearts, efforts, MONEY and votes.
